Universeed Brand Launch
New brand launched in Ukraine
May 2019
The partnership between LNZ Group in Ukraine and NAPG in Canada reached a significant milestone as they launched the Universeed brand. All NAPG products in Ukraine will be sold under this new brand.
“There is a significant opportunity for the Ukrainian seed market to support a globally-focused, agronomically driven seed company. Ukrainian farmers are keen on advancing their farming practices and are hungry for the best technology,” said Claire Cowan, CEO of NAPG.
The brand launch was supported with the launch of the new Universeed website and an active Facebook presence.
“LNZ Group was a natural partner for Universeed. They understand the market and they understand the needs of farmers. I trust in their experience and value the depth of their market access,” said Cowan.
Currently the Universeed portfolio includes two types of corn: high-yielding grain hybrids and unique in Ukraine silage Leafy and Floury Leafy hybrids.
The latter have been cultivated for over 25 years, but were only introduced to Ukraine a few years ago. The best hybrids have been tested and registered for the last five years. During this time, more than 150 hybrids were tested in the LNZ Group fields, the best of which were included in the Universeed portfolio.
“Being constantly on the lookout for the best and trying out seed in our own fields, we decided to share our experience and knowledge with others. This is how the idea of launching the Universeed brand, the hybrids are unique in the Ukrainian market. We’ve combined the experience of North American breeders and research institutes and the reputation, production and distribution of the LNZ Group, to deliver quality hybrids. In the near future, we plan to expand the portfolio with more corn hybrids and into new crops,”said Victor Kravchenko, Head of Universeed in Ukraine.
A country-wide advertising campaign supports the new brand in Ukraine.
